Why aren't I surprised?

The other day I received in the mail my invitation to the NY Public Library's 2005 Christmas Party, which would have been mailed out around October of 2005. The envelope was marked "pre-sorted first class." I guess next week's postal rate increase is in order to maintain this speedy service.
