Due to the March speaker's illness, the Biblical Archaeology Society of New York (BASNY) has revised its lecture schedule.
The March 27th speaker will now be Prof. Robert Stieglitz of Rutgers, speaking on Peleset to Palestine:the story of the Sea Peoples who became Arabs. Stieglitz had been the April speaker but graciously agreed to substitute for the March speaker.
Replacing Stieglitz on April 30th will be Prof. Jodi Magness, speaking on Ossuaries and the burials of Jesus and James.
I will be speaking May 15th on Judas and Pilate: Do the Gospels get them right?
All lectures begin at 7 PM and are held at the Jewish Community Center at 336 Amsterdam Ave (West 76th Street) in Manhattan. BASNY members pay $5. Non-BASNY members will have to buy an admission ticket at the box office (at a higher rate.)
Additionally, several attendees meet for dinner beforehand, usually joined by the guest speaker. Dinner starts at about 5:30 at Josies, 300 Amsterdam Ave. For further info contact feinmanp@ihare.org.
